Checking and Replacing Fuses in Subaru Forester
The main fuses are designed to melt during an overload to prevent damage to the wiring harness and electrical equip ment. Check the main fuses if any electrical component fails to operate (ex cept the starter motor) and other fuses are good. A melted main fuse must be replaced. Use only replacements with the same specified rating as the melted main fuse.
Caution!
Spilling liquid on any electrical components on your vehicle may damage it.
Location of Fuse Boxes
Instrument Panel Fuse Block:
Behind the fuse box cover on the driver’s seat side. To remove the cover, pull it out.
Engine Compartment Fuse Block:
The engine compartment fuse block is located under the hood on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
If a main fuse blows after it is replaced, have the electrical system checked by your nearest SUBARU dealer Always consult your SUBARU dealer before installing fog lights or any other electrical equipment in your vehicle.
