In this article, you will find information about the fuses of the GMC Sierra 2500/3500HD (GMT T1XX; models 2024) including diagrams of the fuse boxes, a list of fuses and relays, their designation, and the location of the fuse blocks within the vehicle.
Checking and Replacing Fuses in GMC Sierra 2500/3500HD
The wiring circuits in the vehicle are protected from short circuits by a combination of fuses and circuit breakers. This greatly reduces the chance of damage caused by electrical problems. To check a fuse, look at the silver-colored band inside the fuse. If the band is broken or melted, replace the fuse. If there is a problem on the road and a fuse needs to be replaced, there are some spare fuses and a fuse puller in the left instrument panel fuse block.
Caution!
- Fuses and circuit breakers are marked with their ampere rating. Do not exceed the specified amperage rating when replacing fuses and circuit breakers.
- Installation or use of fuses that do not meet GM’s original fuse specifications is dangerous. The fuses could fail, and result in a fire.
- Spilling liquid on any electrical component on the vehicle may damage it. Always keep the covers on any electrical component.
Location of Fuse Boxes
Engine Compartment Fuse Block:
The engine compartment fuse block is in the engine compartment, on the passenger side of the vehicle. Lift the cover to access the fuse block.
Instrument Panel Fuse Block (Left):
If equipped with a Work Truck or Custom trim, the left instrument panel fuse block access door is on the driver side edge of the instrument panel.
If equipped with a Uplevel or Base Level trim, the left instrument panel fuse block access door is under the steering wheel on the driver side. A fuse puller is attached to the access door. Pull off the cover to access the fuse block.
Instrument Panel Fuse Block (Right):
The right instrument panel fuse block access door is on the passenger side edge of the instrument panel. Pull off the cover to access the front of the fuse block.
To access the back of the fuse block:
- Push the tab at the top of fuse block down.
- Pull the top of the fuse block outward.
- Reverse Steps 1–2 to reinstall.
An electrical overload may cause the lamps to go on and off, or in some cases to remain off. Have the headlamp wiring checked right away if the lamps go on and off or remain off.
If the wiper motor overheats due to heavy snow or ice, the windshield wipers will stop until the motor cools and will then restart.
