In this article, you will find information about the fuses of the GMC Savana (models 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002), including diagrams of the fuse boxes, a list of fuses and relays, their designation, and the location of the fuse blocks with in the vehicle.
Checking and Replacing Fuses in GMC Savana
The wiring circuits in your vehicle are protected from short circuits by a combination of fuses, circuit breakers and fusible thermal links. This greatly reduces the chance of fires caused by electrical problems.
The headlamp wiring is protected by a circuit breaker in the lamp switch. An electrical overload will cause the lamps to flicker on and off, or in some cases to remain off. If this happens, have your headlamp wiring checked right away.
The windshield wiper motor is protected by a circuit breaker and a fuse. If the motor overheats due to heavy snow, etc., the wiper will stop until the motor cools.
Fuse amperage levels are imprinted on the fuse panel under the dash.
Caution!
- Don’t add anything electrical to your vehicle unless you check with your dealer first.
- Be sure to use the correct fuse.
Location of Fuse Boxes
Instrument Panel Fuse Block:
The fuse block access door is on the driver’s side of the instrument panel above the hood release lever. You can remove the cover by turning the fastener counterclockwise.
Engine Compartment Fuse Relay Center:
The fuse block is on the driver’s side of the engine compartment at the rear.
