In this article, you will find information about the fuses of the Ford Ka (models 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016), including diagrams of the fuse boxes, a list of fuses and relays, their designation, and the location of the fuse blocks within the vehicle.
Checking and Replacing Fuses in Ford Ka
Check the efficiency of the corresponding fuse when a device does not work: the conducting element must not be interrupted. If it is, replace the blown fuse with a new one having the same amperage (same colour). To replace a fuse use tweezers, hooked inside the fuse compartment cover on the left side of the dashboard.
Caution!
- Remove the key from the ignition switch and switch off all loads before replacing a fuse.
- Never replace a blown fuse with metal wires or other materials.
- Should the fuse blow again, contact Ford Dealership.
- In case of general protection fuse intervention (MEGA-FUSE, MIDIFUSE, MAXI-FUSE) contact Ford Dealership.
Location of Fuse Boxes
Dashboard Control Unit:
Left-hand drive vehicles
To access the fuse you must remove the press-fitted cover E . The 5-A fuse for door mirror demisting is located in the diagnostic socket area. The control unit is present in the lower area, besides the pedals.
Right-hand drive vehicles
To gain access to the fuse box, open flap F located inside the glove compartment.
Engine Compartment Fuse Box:
A second fuse box is located on the right side of the engine compartment, next to the battery; to access it press device I, release tabs M and remove cover L. The ID number of the electrical component corresponding to each fuse can be found on the back of the cover.
