Checking and Replacing Fuses in Chevy Impala Limited
The wiring circuits in your vehicle are protected from short circuits by a combination of fuses and circuit breakers. This greatly reduces the chance of fires caused by electrical problems. Look at the silver-colored band inside the fuse. If the band is broken or melted, replace the fuse. Be sure you replace a bad fuse with a new one of the identical size and rating.
Caution!
Fuses and circuit breakers are marked with their ampere rating. Do not exceed the specified amperage rating when replacing fuses and circuit breakers. Use of an oversized fuse or circuit breaker can result in a vehicle fire.
Location of Fuse Boxes
Instrument Panel Fuse Block:
The fuse block is on the passenger side of the vehicle in the carpet molding. Remove the fuse block door to access the fuses.
Engine Compartment Fuse Block:
The engine compartment fuse block is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, by the battery.
