In this article, you will find information about the fuses of the Cadillac Lyriq (models 2023 and 2024), including diagrams of the fuse boxes, a list of fuses and relays, their designation, and the location of the fuse blocks within the vehicle.
Checking and Replacing Fuses in Cadillac Lyriq
The vehicle has fuses and circuit breakers to protect against an electrical system overload. When the current electrical load is too heavy, the circuit breaker opens and closes, protecting the circuit until the current load returns to normal or the problem is fixed. This greatly reduces the chance of circuit overload and fire caused by electrical problems. Fuses and circuit breakers protect the wires that provide the power to the devices in your vehicle. To check a fuse, look at the band inside the fuse. If the band is broken or melted, replace the fuse.
Caution!
Fuses and circuit breakers are marked with their ampere rating. Do not exceed the specified amperage rating when replacing fuses and circuit breakers.
Location of Fuse Boxes
Underhood Compartment Fuse Block:
- The Underhood Compartment Fuse Block is under a cover and side extension/shield in the underhood compartment. Unclip right side of shield and remove the right side access cover.
- Remove the M6 bolt to access the fuse block.
- To open the fuse block cover, press the clips at the side and back and pull the cover up.
Instrument Panel Fuse Block:
The instrument panel fuse block is to the right of the glove box.
- Remove the outer trim cover. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
- Pull the cover rearward to clear the tab and remove.
- Then, remove the front panel, starting at the top.
- Once the panel clips disengage, the tabs along the bottom of the door can disengage from the instrument panel to remove the front panel.
- An electrical overload may cause the lamps to go on and off, or in some cases to remain off. Have the headlamp wiring checked right away if the lamps go on and off or remain off.
- If the wiper motor overheats due to heavy snow or ice, the windshield wipers will stop until the motor cools and will then restart. Although the circuit is protected from electrical overload, overload due to heavy snow or ice may cause wiper linkage damage. If the overload is caused by an electrical problem and not snow or ice, be sure to get it fixed.
