Checking and Replacing Fuses in Buick Lucerne

The wiring circuits in your vehicle are protected from short circuits by a combination of fuses and circuit breakers. This greatly reduces the chance of fires caused by electrical problems.

Look at the silver-colored band inside the fuse. If the band is broken or melted, replace the fuse. Be sure you replace a bad fuse with a new one of the identical size and rating.

You will find a fuse puller clipped in both of the fuse blocks. Snap the wide end of the fuse puller at the side indentations and pull the fuse out.

Caution!

  • Data on the replacement fuse must match the data on the defective fuse.
  • Before replacing a fuse, turn every vehicle electrical switch off.
  • Spilling liquid on any electrical component on the vehicle may damage it. Always keep the covers on any electrical component.

Location of Fuse Boxes

Underhood Fuse Block:
The underhood fuse block is located on the passenger’s side of the engine compartment. Remove the fuse cover and secondary service cover to access the fuse block.Buick Lucerne (2008-2011): Engine compartment fuse box location

Rear Underseat Fuse Block:
The rear fuse block is located under the rear seat on the driver’s side. The rear seat cushion must be removed to access the rear fuse block. To access the fuse block, pull out and lift up on the cover latch, located at the end of the fuse block, near the battery cable.Buick Lucerne (2008-2011): Passenger compartment fuse panel location

Removing the Rear Seat Cushion:

  1. Pull up on the front of the cushion to release the front hooks.
  2. Pull the cushion up and out toward the front of the vehicle.
