Checking and Replacing Fuses in Buick Cascada
The wiring circuits in your vehicle are protected from short circuits by a combination of fuses, circuit breakers and fusible thermal links. This greatly reduces the chance of damage caused by electrical problems.
Look at the silver-colored band inside the fuse. If the band is broken or melted, replace the fuse. Be sure you replace a bad fuse with a new one of the identical size and rating. Fuses of the same amperage can be temporarily borrowed from another fuse location, if a fuse goes out. Replace the fuse as soon as possible.
Caution!
- Data on the replacement fuse must match the data on the defective fuse.
- Before replacing a fuse, turn every vehicle electrical switch off.
Location of Fuse Boxes
Engine Compartment Fuse Block:
To open the fuse block cover, press the clips at the front and back and rotate the cover up to the side. There is a fuse puller in the engine compartment fuse block.
Instrument Panel Fuse Block:
The instrument panel fuse block is on the driver side of the instrument panel.
To access:
- Open the storage compartment.
- Pull straight down and out to remove the storage compartment.
- Remove the cover.
To reinstall the cover, line up the retainers and push into place.
Rear Compartment Fuse Block:
The rear compartment fuse block, if equipped, is on the left side of the trunk behind a cover.
